Shaori Hollow Karst and its Peculiarities

Annotation:
The territory of Georgia is characterized by diverse, difficult conditions and terrain. In the diversity and complexity of the natural conditions of the considerable role belongs an also karstic phenomenon. Georgia in this regard is one of the classic countries in the world, a large area the territory of which ( 4475 km2 ) cover karstic (easily soluble in water) breed. Within Georgia karstic phenomena are primarily distributed along the southern slope of the Caucasus, from the river Psou till south-west to the vicinity of the lake Ertso at the distance of 325 km. Intensity and widespread karstic phenomena is characterized as plain intermountain West Georgia and zone midlands and highlands. The abundance and diversity of karstic caves underground halls due to geological and geotectonic structure of the territory, in particular, Cretaceous limestone is quite widespread in karstic regions of Western Georgia.
